Oakworth Primary School’s Commitment to Community Engagement

Oakworth Primary School is proud to be at the heart of the local community, building strong and lasting connections that enrich the lives of our pupils and those around them.

Each year, we take part in community events such as the World War II commemoration, where children learn about local history and take part in remembrance activities that foster respect, reflection, and a deeper understanding of the past.

We also maintain close links with local care homes, with pupils regularly visiting residents to share stories, read together, and take part in seasonal celebrations. These intergenerational visits are always a highlight and help develop compassion, confidence, and a sense of service in our children.

Our school also runs welcoming Toddler and Baby Groups, offering a supportive environment for young children and their families to play, learn, and connect. In addition, our strong partnership with the local Pre-School ensures a smooth transition for children starting their journey at Oakworth.

We work closely with our local Co-op store to secure funding for projects that benefit the wider community, including environmental improvements within the village.

Through all these efforts, Oakworth Primary continues to play an active, caring, and positive role in our local community.
