Our School
SEND
Teachers accurately identify pupils who might need extra help. This includes pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Carefully considered support helps pupils with SEND to access the full curriculum. Adults provide effective support in lessons that helps pupils to voice their thoughts, read, write and become independent.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Oakworth Primary School
Oakworth Primary School is a fully inclusive mainstream school, dedicated to meeting the individual needs of every learner.
We are committed to creating a supportive ethos, environment, and culture that recognises and responds to the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). We believe that all children—regardless of their individual challenges—are entitled to the widest possible access to a broad, balanced, and enriching education. Our aim is to ensure that all pupils, including those with SEND, are fully integrated into every aspect of school life without stigma, prejudice, or discrimination.
At Oakworth, we follow the SEND Code of Practice and are committed to early identification, effective assessment, and appropriate provision for all pupils with SEND. We recognise that the best outcomes are achieved through strong partnerships, and we work closely with parents and carers, the children themselves, and external professionals to provide tailored support.
We place great value on listening to and respecting the views of both the child and their family, ensuring that their voice is central to all decisions made. Our goal is to help every child achieve their full potential in a caring, inclusive, and ambitious school community.
