Our School
Safeguarding
At Oakworth Primary School, safeguarding and child protection are our highest priorities. We are fully committed to ensuring that every pupil feels safe, secure, and supported during their time with us. If we have reason to believe that a child has been harmed or may be at risk of harm, we will always take prompt and appropriate action to safeguard and protect them.
Our school has trained Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) who are available to discuss any concerns or questions you may have regarding the safety and wellbeing of children.
Designated Safeguarding Staff
Any safeguarding concerns within school should be reported immediately to one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads.
Our DSL is also responsible for making referrals and reporting concerns to the appropriate external agencies in line with our legal and statutory duties.
We have a comprehensive set of policies and procedures in place to underpin our safeguarding responsibilities. These include our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy as well as a trust-wide Whistleblowing Policy, both of which help ensure a safe and transparent culture for all members of our school community.
