Where did Chocolate come from?
The children have been super excited about our new topic - 'where does chocolate come from?' What a perfect start to the half term Year 3 have had! We began the morning by tasting different varieties of delicious chocolate. Following this each group designed their very own chocolate bar which they even branded with a catchy logo. Finally to finish off the day we created some questionnaires to ask members of the class which was their favourite chocolate bar.
Year Three have had an exciting week designing and erupting volcanoes! The children worked in groups and used their 'Timmy Teamwork' brains to carefully design and decorate their very own volcano model. Afterwards, the whole year group went outside to erupt them all over the school yard!
We introduced our new topic about natural disasters by making earth models with home-made play dough! We then baked and iced some earth biscuits with the ocean and continents.
Yet again, Year 3 have been artistic and creative this week! We have been designing authentic cave paintings against the wall and under the table, just as real cave men would have done!
Year 3 have been busy cooking! Last week we designed healthy wraps and this week we have made a tasty savoury rice dish.
Year 3 have been having lots of fun in the cooking room. This week they made a savoury rice dish. They looked delicious!
Year 3 spent the morning being Stone Age hunter-gatherers. They foraged for fruit, learnt the skill of using a bow and arrow and carried out target practice using a spear. They had to put their hunting skills into action when a Saber-toothed cat was spotted on the school grounds! The children wrote some super diaries back in class about spending the day as a hunter-gatherer.
In Year 3, we have been busy using our Bronte Brains! We carried out team worker challenges and had to try out different ideas. It was great fun!
