What is at the top of Jack’s beanstalk?

This half term the children in Reception are thinking about what they might find at the top of Jacks Beanstalk. We will be learning to retell the fairy tale and change one aspect.
We used the Anthony Browne book ‘Into the Forest’ as part of our Wow Start – we went to Holden Woods to find different fairy tale clues!

Are you a Superhero?

For the Husky Wow Start the children dressed up as their favourite hero; super and real!

The children talked about the kinds of activities they might like to do this half term. Some ideas we thought of:

  • Meeting the fire brigade
  • Making a superhero den
  • Designing and making our own costumes and masks
  • Moving like a hero

We are going to have a fun filled half term!’

The Huskies and Penguins Start School!

WOW START

The boys and girls in Reception have had an exciting few weeks starting full time school!
The children have talked about and shared their ‘All About Me’ boxes; telling their friends about their families, the things they like and the places they have been.
The Huskies and Penguins have had a great time making new friends, finding out about their new teachers and investigating their new classroom.

Over the next half term we will be learning lots about our friends in the Husky and Penguin class through our topic ‘Magical Me!’. We will be thinking about the types of houses we live in, who lives with us, what we are made of and things we like and dislike!

FAB FINISH

The boys and girls in the Husky Class decorated biscuits using icing, sweets and chocolates!

They wanted to make the biscuits look just like themselves to finish off our ‘Magical Me’ topic.
